
The Fat Owl, the guiding image of this venture, is not only a supreme 
listener but is aware that good sound depends on the context, style, and
 location of the event. We take great pride in making our setups work in
 every space, by fine-tuning, listening, and adjusting the gear before 
and throughout every event.


The Fat Owl rig stands on the Othorn, a superb tapped horn subwoofer 
with high sensitivity & low-end extension, and low distortion that 
delivers smooth and powerful hifi-bass. The kick-bass is reproduced by 
seamlessly integrated 18" bins that will make everyone's chests pump to 
the beat. The tops convey airy soft and crystal clear highs.
Fat Owl Audio has produced a variety of electronic styles (d&b, 
bass, psy, techno, house) and we also had some magnificent live 
productions running through the rig. However, the bass on this thing is 
unreal. So, ja: we do like dubstep.



The full rig has 6x 21" subs (Othorns, B&C drivers), 6x 18" kicks 
(ES18, Fane drivers), and 6x Sanway tops (similar to Funktion One Res2) -
 all operated using high-end processor & amplifiers (Powersoft, QSC,
 MC2, Labgruppen). Up to 20kw (RMS) setups which can cover around 
1500ppl. Different size setups possible.

years. For us it's all about connection on the dancefloor, bringing 
people together to play and communicate with friends while listening to 
crisp, clear sound with a phat bottom end that gets your groove on. 
Then, when the time is right - turn up the volume for full sonic 
immersion and lose yourself in the music.

Sacral Sound

ninthWavesound is the first system of its kind in Aotearoa to have been 
hand-built by a woman (Dr. Laura Marsh a.k.a. DJ LLUSH) and the first to
 promote gender balanced and femme-focused line-ups. ninthWave is a 
feminist sound system.This kaupapa runs through her own events, and has 
been supported by Splore, Earth Beat, Brazen and Rhythm&Alps 
festivals. ninthWavesound holds space for feminist iterations and 
experiences of Bass music.

Physically, ninthWave is deliciously boutique with a heavyweight 
disposition, colourful, visually appealing and with powerful abilities 
that exceed her slight appearance. She boasts a 12,600W capacity and is 
designed to produce much lower frequencies than most sound systems, the 
resonant tuning of her 21” subs being 32Hz, extending much further down 
into realms of often unfelt bass vibration. (More bass, much better). 

She is a 4-way system comprised of 2x21”, 2x15”, 4x 10”, 2x2”; powered 
by two 4 channel high powered amps and a 6 channel Xilica LMS. Complete 
with 18m cables between cabinets and amps, she is uniquely enabled to 
create interesting configurations of DJ–stacks–audience relationships. 
She is currently based in Central Otago (((({}))))

We originate from the Hills and the Streams, Tahunanui Hi-Fi is the 
incarnation of Sound Systems of old, hand built but sometimes bringing 
recycled boxes we bring equal opportunity, equal rights and sum bass 
dem, placed apon di corner... With a lean towards vinyl classics, live 
drumming and bass inna dub stylei, always respectful - Definitely 
Mighty!

TAHUNANUI HIFII

103 was born in 2023 after a 5 year long foray in Michael providing 
lighting for dance parties, while working by day delivering events in 
across Arenas, Theatres and Concert Halls. 

A 103 event comprises passion both in the technology that underpins 
dance events and the unique communities that drive it. Expect 
bass-weight held in equal priority to musical clarity, envelope pushing 
artists and transformative lighting/visual installs.

Highly modular rig, consisting of double 18" front loaded subs, double 
15" reflex kicks and double 12" tops arrayed for 110 degree dispersion. 
Full rig total RMS rating Approx 20,000w. Scalable from small room to 
1200+ people outdoors. Tuning is universally optimised, the system 
sounds as good as the music put through it

Eyes Down Sound Woolston Christchurch 

A well established DIY sound system with a focus UK/EURO, style of 
deployment and operating, culture and vibe.

Our focus is a less is more approach, providing the occasional small 
event in Christchurch or reinforcing some of the south islands 
underground grass roots outdoor events with a system specified for 
rugged outdoor battle spec kiwi dance party's.

We keep to ourselves and strive to provide a professional representation
 of high power and well processed system experience, with an open mind 
towards new types of music that showcase the design brilliance of the 
build paired with the spec gear we have added to the system over the 
years to come to the place we are at now. Its not perfect, but its built
 to do exactly what we want it to do, old school horn loaded gear with 
90's point source tops, powered and processed with Powersoft amps.

Eyes Down, is a unique experience, with a focus on preserving certain 
eras of music that are tasteful and meaningful to the progression of Dub
 and dance music culture in Aotearoa.

Thanks to Brayden Maguire and all of the core crew, the system proudly 
represents some of greatest eras of DIY global sound system culture 
along with a driven focus on technology and accuracy, and a true passion
 for what Dubstep used to be pre 2015.

Eyes Down Sound

Born from a love of low end and pharmaceuticals, Prescription Audio is a
 handmade sound system out of the Southern Lakes of New Zealand. Born 
under the guidance of Fidelity Sound System and built in Wānaka by local
 friends, it delivers precise, unadulterated sound regardless of the 
genre of music getting played through it. Now a staple of the South 
Island scene, Prescription is forthright in its desire to support, 
contribute and promote Aotearoa sound system culture for serious time.

Prescription Audio

Mikey Majestic is known for his deep, roots-oriented selections that 
span the golden eras of Jamaican reggae and UK dub. His style draws 
heavily from:


Foundational Sounds:
1970s Roots Reggae – Think Burning Spear, Culture, and early Bob Marley,
 with heavy consciousness and militant riddims.

Classic Dub – Inspired by producers like King Tubby, Scientist, and 
Prince Jammy—full of space, echo, and bass weight.

UK Roots & Steppers – Heavy, meditative, spiritual sound system 
tracks from producers like Jah Shaka, Disciples, and Bush Chemists.
His Signature Style Includes:
Vinyl-only selections – deep crate-digging and rare pressings.

Spiritual & Uplifting Vibes – tracks often carry messages of unity, 
resistance, and upliftment.

Dubwise versions – loaded with reverb, delay, and dropouts, tailored for
 proper sound system listening.

Consistent Low-End Weight – a clear focus on deep basslines and analogue
 warmth, perfectly suited to his Majestic Roots rig.

back room/chillout zone. Playing classic and vintage reggae.

Majestic Sound System

Entity is relatively new to the sound system world but they are 
increasingly leaving a mark with every outing. Their purpose is to push 
boundaries with advancing audio technologies while also paying homage to
 original sound system culture. They utilize a combination of hand built
 & pro audio cabinets to deliver a clear and precise sound 
throughout the frequency spectrum. Each event they are a part of is 
another step to perfecting the quality they want to be known for!

Entity Sound System

After years facilitating a music space in Wellington, Pseismic relocated
 to Christchurch for some serious system upgrades and development. The 
focus is on full-spectrum reproduction and fidelity across the entire 
frequency range.



This five-way system covers sub-audible frequencies through to precise 
high-end detail. The tuning extends into infrasonic 
territory—frequencies that are felt rather than heard—while maintaining 
clarity across the audible spectrum.



With love for all good music, Pseismic has provided sound reinforcement 
across multiple electronic genres, with particular interest in 
supporting experimental and boundary-pushing music that benefits from 
accurate, uncompromised reproduction. If it sounds good, they're keen to
 make it sound better.

Rig Specifications:

21" othorn subs, 15" front loaded horn kickbins, prizmatic 415 tops from
 the mighty tubs audio. Around 25KW, suitable for all music but most 
notable is its low end extension well into infrasound.



Pseismic

When the crew first met, we felt the need to create a Sound System that 
could showcase our love for underground electronic music and Sound 
System Culture.



The more we spoke, the idea of an off-planet AI that had downloaded 
itself into the Sound System came to the forefront. This seemed like the
 perfect way to create a genreless, genderless host for our vision.

Removal of ownership, inclusivity, diversity and safe spaces to rave 
stay heavily at the forefront of what we are trying to achieve with 
Third Eye Hi-Fi. We want people at our dances to connect with the 
system.



Our speaker designs are all open source and are the product of a massive
 collaborative effort of hundreds of people, who's sole aim is to 
provide deep and clean sound to the masses whilst being as attainable as
 possible.

5 years on and we are still absolutely passionate about everything we do
 and hope to be providing vibes for many years to come!

Third Eye Hi-Fi

This no-compromise, 5-way all-horn-loaded point source system delivers 
an efficient, clear soundstage, blending the pinpoint accuracy of studio
 monitors with immense power and exceptionally deep, musical, and 
articulate bass.

Rig Specifications:


5-way, all horn loaded, point source design. It's a 12,000 watt system. 
To run it safely and continuously, the power requirement is 15 kVA.

Ghost Soundsystem


Hine-raiona Bigbada Boom is Aotearoa’s only femme fronted, custom-built reggae sound system making its
 debut in 2021. Championing wahine and gender diverse DJs and artists, while staying true to
 the deep roots of Jamaican and UK sound system culture.

From the origins of ska, through reggae, roots & dub, to dancehall, rub-a-dub and beyond,
Bigbada travels the length of Aotearoa New Zealand, bringing the timeless joy of reggae and
 heavy bass straight to the people’s doorstep. Its mission: to honour and share over 50 years of
 rich sound system legacy while educating, inspiring, and uniting communities through reggae
 music.



Built from D.I.Y. and upcycled speakers inspired by 1980s sound systems, each component of
 Bigbada Boom carries its own story, origin, and soul. The result is a warm, fat sound, wrapped
 in playful, cartoony visuals and infused with unapologetic feminine energy. Bigbada Boom isn’t
 just a sound system, it’s a living, breathing thing, an art piece you feel and remember long after
 the music fades.

Hine-raiona Bigbada Boom Sound System

What started as a passion for good sounds at parties has turned into a 
full blown addiction into the world of bass music. A group of young lads
 hailing from Wanaka have been pushing sounds for the last 3-4 years now
 in the central district getting lots of early inspiration and pushed by
 the great forces that is Fidelity Sound System and Jacked DnB then in 
the later years turning into Prescription Audio. 



Maglow aims to bring High quality sound to parties in a quick 
professional fashion. We love to see people sweating out all the 
problems of the day to the sounds we have created. From lifting the 
boxes off the trailer, stacking em, plugging it all in and getting the 
sound dialled in, we all bring strengths to the table to ensure it is a 
well oiled ship. 

Over the years Maglow has done plenty of gigs but these days they try to
 focus on just one or two good events a year with a focus on making the 
event stand out. 



The boys - Oski, Roko, Wookie and Nugz are all epic DJs in their own 
respects and are certainly on the path to do some awesome stuff.

BOOM CANDY was born out of a passion for bass-heavy music and a desire 
to create events that truly resonate with the underground. We’ve grown 
from humble beginnings to become a staple in New Zealand’s drum and bass
 scene, known for bone-rattling basslines and unrivalled sound quality.

The rigs made up of 12 j bins loaded with B&C NW100s , 4 proel 212p  running of 3x crown I-Tech 4x3500HD amps. Monitors are JBL vtx 15s all running through a Midas M32R.  We are pumping 33'000 watts 43 kva.
