Abyssal Soundworks is a library of late-night rituals drawn from across 
Aotearoa, founded and curated by Eli Høff.

Rooted in the deep, dark, and psychedelic undercurrents of the local 
doof scene, Abyssal Soundworks seeks to open a portal between local and 
international communities, showcasing the unique voices and sounds that 
have yet to be heard.

Leather Kennel started as an ad-hoc production studio to foster the 
growing underground talent in our local music scene. We started from 
scratch, essentially pooling together whatever music equipment we had 
between us to build a space to create music! 

Since then we've been 
involved in plenty of events, building sound-systems and running Leather
 Kennel as a vinyl-focused music label to showcase our favourite 
artists. We're constantly evolving, investing in equipment and 
experimenting with new ideas that help local artists get the most out of
 their productions. We've had the pleasure of hosting artists far and 
wide in the sound-system scene, providing a space to decompress and 
record new ideas. Leather Kennel will always be for the community &

'Move 2 Dis' is a Kiwi dubstep sound system and record label.

Drawing inspiration from early dubstep, Jamaican reggae, and 90s UK dub,
 M2D push a sound that’s both unique and nostalgic.

Dedicated to bringing quality dubstep from around the world to Aotearoa.
 With a focus on physical media the label has released three records, 
with their latest 12” selling out in under 24 hours.

With a boots on the ground approach, and an unwavering focus on quality,
 'Move 2 Dis' strive to become a community for fans of soundsystem 
culture and the original dubstep sound.

Founded in 2018 by Keanu Raves & Malware MD initially as a platform for their own music, the label has since expanded to host a range of up and coming Ōtautahi based producers focusing on techno and adjacent styles. Club Unique also hosted a long running radio show on RDU 98.5FM (2018 - 2025), and hosted a series of successful club nights throughout Ōtautahi at venues including Flux, Darkroom, Loons, and Space Academy. With label boss Keanu Raves now based in Berlin, the radio show and events are on hiatus, but we continue to work on label releases as finances allow.

Freddy street records is an independent bass and dub music label founded at a small cold, corner house in Woolston, Ōtautahi , where basslines were vibrating the floors and dub chords were always ringing off the walls from dusk till dawn. Built on the love for bass and soundsystem culture, our aim is to share and support talented underground artists. We pride ourselves on artist relationships because we understand the artists are the ones paving the way and creating the work. Aotearoa’s music scene is massive, and we at Kaitiaki Records — a new (3-year-old) and long-awaited label — are a fresh face bringing you all things jungle and break-related from the deep south of NZ. Expect heavy jungle vibes from an array of talented grassroots NZ artists such as Spook, Getafix, Ali On, Fluid Haunts, and Optics.

Kaitiaki Records started as an idea when we felt jungle music wasn’t given a place to shine compared to DnB. So, we decided to create a space for the Junglists of Aotearoa — a safe, creative outlet where they could release music and express who they are as artists. We are a collective, not a single entity. We are all Kaitiaki of our own music; no matter the genre, we remain unique in our expressions yet united under the values we uphold at Kaitiaki Records. Through passion, community support, and love for jungle music, Kaitiaki Records was born.

‘Kaitiaki’ translates to guardian, keeper, or protector. With the suffix ‘tanga’ (as in Kaitiakitanga), it means preservation and protection. Before choosing our name, we went back to the people of the land and sought guidance from a tohunga (expert), who gave their full blessing. ‘Kaitiakitanga’ reflects traditional Māori knowledge and worldviews — values we embrace deeply. Our name represents our commitment to preserve, respect, and celebrate the unique sounds and talents of Aotearoa while upholding Tikanga.

Originally beginning as a techno and experimental focused club night in Auckland, New Zealand – and now based in Christchurch - Keepsakes and Jaded Nineties Raver’s Haven imprint is aiming to bring the best of the country’s new guard of dance music on to the world stage alongside some distinctive voices from the international scene. Pushing a sound that is equally inspired by the techno, rave, and electro tunes of the 90s, the new wave sound of the 70s and 80s, and the experimental sound design of industrial and noise artists, Haven is working to advance these left-of-centre voices at home and abroad with their individually crunchy sonic waves.
