In the heart of Wellington's Cuba St precinct, San Fran has been priding
 itself on offering punters, artists, and event practitioners from 
Wellington, Aotearoa, and overseas a good night out for 20+ years.

Armed with an L'Acoustics A-Series PA system, a top of the line lighting
 rig and a passionate team of music and event lovers powering the place -
 San Fran are here to create unforgettable experiences for all who come 
up our stairs.

Folk to Heavy Metal, Comedy to Drum and Bass, local first timers to 
heavyweight internationals - San Fran has seen it all and is here to 
showcase it for you.



San Fran


Roots Bar is a small gastro pub (with a big heart) and live music venue 
that serves as the beating pulse of Golden Bay’s creative community. On 
any given night you’ll find a mash-up of locals, travellers, musos, and 
misfits gathered over local craft beers, delicious burgers, and the best
 sound system in Tasman. Our events span from hip-hop to heavy funk, 
punk, dub to disco, DnB to vinyl sessions to open mics, with everything 
in between. Often spilling into spontaneous dance floors or courtyard 
open fire connections. 


We host touring artists, local legends, and genre-bending collaborations
 that keep things fresh and the vibe unpredictable. 


Beyond the music, Roots is about connection, good kai, good company, and
 a shared love for the weird and wonderful spirit of Golden Bay. Whether
 you’re here for a burger, a boogie, or just to soak up the atmosphere, 
Roots Bar delivers a night that feels real, a true slice of small-town 
magic with big soul.

Our venue brings together the best of both worlds — a lively food hub by day and a dynamic nightclub by night. Set inside an industrial warehouse, the space hosts a lineup of food vendors operating from repurposed containers, creating a unique mix of grit, creativity, and energy. From grabbing lunch in the sun to stepping into late-night gigs, the venue offers a constantly shifting experience.

Pearl Diver is a bar / pizzaria / music venue in the heart of Ōtepotis CBD offering a relaxed space with an outdoor beer garden/courtyard.  Hosting a diverse range of events, from vinyl DJ nights, heavy rock shows and live jazz, we like to keep things interesting and keen to host touring artists from around the country/world. Pearl Diver diver boasts a custom built stage with in-house PA and backline available - free for hire.

Valhalla is a music venue for all that hosts a wide variety of music for passionate music fans. We try to provide a safe space where folks can be themselves and be apart of a healthy music community and art space. Valhalla has historically been a home for underground music, and "the misfitted toys that all the other venues don’t cater for", but also functions as a platform for artists of all creeds. As well as hosting big international names in heavy music, the venue also has a strong relationship with local dance music collectives. All genres that the local scene has to offer have a home in the halls of Valhalla. Alongside live music, you can also expect art exhibitions, community barbecues in the carpark, and an outdoor stage in the summer.

While Yours regularly organise events internally, we welcome others to imagine, organise, and host events at Yours, either independently or collaboratively, providing they are in broad alignment with our kaupapa. 


We are an all ages venue and can provide food and drink services although we do not have a liquor license. We can also offer onsite accommodation for visiting artists.

Established in 2011 shortly after the earthquakes, when the red zone cordon was still a mere 200m down the road, Darkroom was one of the first creative spaces to open to help fill the void after the earthquakes led to the closure of so many of our city's venues.   More than 14 years later, Darkroom continues to play an important part in our city’s 
post-quake creative landscape, welcoming local and touring musicians of all genres, 
experience, and ability levels to perform. 

Alongside live band shows, the venue also hosts cabaret shows, book launches, poetry nights, artist development sessions and more.

Darkroom shares its building with an artist run art gallery called Art Hole, and a recording studio managed by Moonbase Record Collective.

Audio Foundation

We host a range of arts-related events from DJ Nights, to Folk singers, from indie bands to rap artists! We're a small informal lounge of 35 in the heart of Auckland on Dominion Road.


MoveSpace

A non-profit organisation dedicated to the encouragement of creative musical, artistic, and performance activities. We run an all-ages venue, recording studio and rehearsal spaces known as The Stomach in Palmerston North.

Accessibility and affordability are key goals of Creative Sounds Society. We aim to ensure that all people are able to access music, regardless of their ability or circumstances.

Regular Live Gigs more or less once a week - more in the summer and fewer in the winter.


Everything from live bands with full room dancing, to sit down and listen opera and classical and theatrical.


We make our own beers and ciders onsite; and have a goodly range of meals and snacks.

The Mussel Inn

The Button Factory is a community-first arts initiative in Tāmaki 
Makaurau, Auckland. We are a versatile space used for event hire, 
performances, live music, creative rehearsals and productions, community
 gatherings and workshops, gallery exhibitions, and immersive and 
experimental arts events. We host, support, and create over 50 art 
activations per month, spanning a wide range of disciplines, celebrating
 the richness and breadth of talent within our community. Additionally, 
we serve as a community hub and art gallery, offering a free online and 
in-person space for creatives to work, gather, get inspired, and 
connect. Our mission is to support the arts community in the biggest 
possible picture; to provide more opportunities to keep the creative 
heart of Aotearoa (and the world!) beating steadily.
