PDC Sound System (Port Dubs Collective) is an Auckland-based sound system crew rooted in reggae and dub tradition with a modern twist, delivering heavyweight sessions on its custom-built rig that moves through roots, dub, dubstep and jungle with a modern bass edge

PDC Sound System, also known as Port Dubs Collective, is an Auckland-based sound system crew rooted in deep bass culture and the traditions of reggae and dub, while embracing the evolution of modern bass music. Formed from a shared appreciation for heavyweight sound, PDC (Port Dubs Collective) operates around Its Hand-built 5 way sound system, designed for full-range clarity, physical low-end and immersive sessions. Drawing influence from Jamaican sound system culture, the collective places equal importance on music selection, system tuning and the communal energy created on the dancefloor. PDC’s musical scope spans roots reggae, dub, dubstep, jungle and bass-driven electronic music, with selectors moving fluidly between styles while maintaining a strong dub-wise foundation. Their sessions are known for depth, restraint and progression allowing the system and the music to speak without excess. As a collective, PDC brings together a rotating crew of selectors and collaborators, hosting and contributing to events across Tāmaki Makaurau and beyond. Their recorded mixes and live sessions document both local and international influences, reflecting a commitment to sound system culture as a living, evolving practice rather than a fixed genre. At its core, PDC Sound System is about shared experience through sound building a friendly welcoming space for everyone to experience heavy frequencies, considered selection and shared connection on the dancefloor.
