Based in Pōneke, Emile Commarieu (Kāi Tahu, Ngāpuhi) has been a lighting designer/technician under the name emcom since 2023. A child of Tāmaki Makaurau’s punk scene, emcom is the current resident lighting designer for Froth, and has worked alongside VJ Cubeman, Ghost Media, Safehouse and many other promotional companies across the capital. emcom enjoys ensuring dancers are looking their best, as well as mixing alongside the DJs to create memorable moments on the dance floor. A raver who understands the importance of the absence of light to create tension and the immense relief when darkness becomes euphoric, emcom can make any crowd move and dance their asses off through the night.
