Syntrude is the alias of New Zealand born DJ and producer Ed Fairclough, whose passion for music originated from a love of performing and writing music for the highland bagpipes. As a performer he is often described as a storyteller, prioritizing tracks with emotive progression, catchy grooves and expressive elements. His ethereal soundscapes make way for massive driving bass lines and moody interludes between genres such as experimental bass, dubstep, downtempo, and garage. He is a founding member of the Psymatic Sound collective and has played an integral role in the construction of their sound system and organisation of their local psy and bass nights. The crew have carved out a name for themselves within the Ōtautahi scene and aim to provide a platform to promote other artists as well.
