Strangeloop is the experimental live set alias of gecko, an Ōtautahi producer and host of the Machinarium live electronic club nights - a new event series dedicated to cultivating the city's live electronic music scene. Following their successful release on SPDO as gecko, Strangeloop is borne out of a desire for a more immediate and expressive performance format than DJing alone can offer. Combining atmospheric sample manipulation with sub pressure and live, dubbed-out stabs, the project explores a deeper and at times darker sonic territory.
