Sam Binga is at the intersection of dance music's most dynamic styles. Since his project's debut in 2013, this Bristol-based cornerstone has expertly blended cutting-edge club sounds from across the globe with a classic UK soundsystem sensibility, all infused with a distinctive (and cheeky!) personality that is uniquely his own. Working with scene-leading artists as diverse as Skream, Bianca Oblivion, and Nikki Nair, Binga has an unparalleled reputation for his expert approach to production, his high-intensity DJ sets, and his ability to work with vocalists in a raw yet artistically-sensitive fashion. Recent work with New York’s Sister Zo has seen him flex his techno muscles; alongside Fracture, there’s been an explosion of electro experiments; while his tracks with Bakey have varied from UKG to Footwork and Jungle and resulted in some of the biggest UK anthems of recent years. Binga’s own imprint, ‘Pineapple’, has quickly racked up a hugely respected back catalog, releasing huge tunes from rising stars such as Cesco and Fixate, while bringing through rising talent such as Amy Kisnorbo and Sir Hiss. Equally at home in underground sweatboxes and huge raves, label takeovers have sent crowds delirious everywhere from Elsewhere in Brooklyn to Outlook in Croatia and Boomtown in the UK. Upcoming projects include a collaboration with South African vocalist Toya Delazy on US mega-imprint Hard Recs, while Sweatboxx Party with Manchester legend Fox (and LA’s own Bianca Oblivion) is in consideration for a Grammy nomination. Regular tours across the USA, Australia, and Asia, alongside a solid schedule of performances across the most iconic venues in the UK, all point to the consistent vitality of the Sam Binga project. From Bristol, via the underground, to the world.
