Nomali has been quietly involved in the Pacific’s dark psychedelic landscape for eight years. Inspired by the experimental and introspective aspects of Aotearoa’s underground, their sound reflects its setting; hand-built speakers playing multi- genre music deep in the native bush. The result is a chimera of everything they love; half-time baselines, double-time kicks, polyrhythmic percussion, and atonal atmospheres that encourage presence, activation, and clarification of thought. Synthetic elements build energy before giving way to organic ritualism in recursive patterns, building tension in the dance before pumping tempo on the release.
