Introducing an iconic mother and son duo unearthed from Te Whanganui-a-Tara’s Soundsystem culture: J Swizzle and Nam Chucks supply grounding bass, conscious vibrations, and infectious jungle rhythms. Raised on jungle since the womb - J Swizzle grew up surrounded by towering speakers and the rhythm of Wellington’s underground. Now a Homebass selector and member of the Wozer crew, he dedicates his mixing to carrying on the legacy of his gangsta mum. Nam Chucks, Homebass show coordinator and part of Eastern Sound Collective, blends reggae, roots, and Bollywood with graceful intention whilst representing wahine and BIPOC voices across Aotearoa. Together, this duo embody intergenerational sound system culture - bridging genres, cultures, and generations through music that seeks to heal, uplift, and unite the dance floor.
