Naakz & Zoot (Manaaki Andrew Tibble & Kahukuranui Hunter-Brown) are a Māori producer/hip-hop duo residing in Te-Whanganui-a-Tara. In 2026 they released their debut mixtape "Three-Headed Taniwha". The project focuses heavily on themes of decolonising, inequity, and the state of the government, whilst also providing a carefree, sardonic take on these issues as a response. The project ties in elements of trap as well as sample based beats and some elements of live production which can be seen at shows. Naakz & Zoot have more releases in the coming months with a heavier focus on experimentation and danceability. With appearances on RNZ as well as a spot at Great Sounds Great, the duo are definitely up and coming talents in the Aotearoa hip-hop scene.
