Dale Kerrigan is a four piece Noise Rock band from Ōtepoti, Dunedin. Shlee Nicholls provides noisy guitar riffs and lead vocals, while Joel Field brings soaring effects laden guitar lines and chunky chuggers to the fold. Josh Nicholls keeps it locked on the drums and Connor Blackie rounds out the steady rhythm section on bass guitar. The band formed in 2020 when Shlee and Joel met at Art School in Dunedin, and found a shared interest in bands such as Sonic Youth, Pavement, and Nirvana. Dale Kerrigan has two records. The first, Noise Bitch, was released in 2021 to great fanfare around the motu, with one review suggesting “...’Noise Bitch’ commands attention from the first bar. So much so, it could’ve quite comfortably been called Move Bitch.” The sophomore album, The Water, followed in 2022 bringing an evolution from the gritty debut to a sonic wash of beautiful textures. The two albums have been played extensively in Otepoti to gungho and adoring friends and fans, as well as across the country when touring the main centres.
