Carl has been performing and producing electronic music in NZ since 2017, as part of the pop duo Imugi. After years of honing his production skills, Carl adopted the moniker ‘Caru’ & directed his creative efforts to the dance floor - resulting in a steady flow of remixes and bootlegs released on Soundcloud. Reimagining everything from 90’s and Y2K classic hits to new contemporary tracks, Caru is a regular favourite found on the USB's of selectors both in Tāmaki Makaurau and beyond. Caru's dubs have been played out on international stages including Lady Shaka’s HÖR London Takeover set, included in compilations from Otautahi / Christchurch collective The Big Fresh collectives FOOTMAHI series, featured on Bristol, UK label / collective Belters, and more. Caru’s newfound creative momentum shows no signs of slowing, with local & international collaborations in the works and new releases on the horizon.
