Bay Area-born and raised, Bastiengoat has become an essential figure amongst the Bay Area's vibrant underground of the last decade. With production that infuses sounds from techno, breaks, and juke with west coast genres such as hard house and hyphy, he creates cohesion out of the confusing universe of club music. Whether he's making mutated dubstep, or putting gabber kicks over a Keak Da Sneak sample, he's always molding exciting sounds together both past and present. With nearly 30 self-released Bandcamp projects, his EPs such as Sideshow, Harmony, and his newest Endogenous are favorites amongst fans of mangled dance music. The rich tradition of the Bay's underground are the true roots of Bastiengoat's practice. A grimy warehouse full of outcasts trying to escape the brutality of everyday life is where his sound feels most comfortable. Bastiengoat's passion to make people move is fueled by these spaces and communities, and it remains his purpose to spread the innovation found there.
