Delta Process is a creative team of visionary artists, vjs and interactive designers performing and designing visuals for electronic music, art and cultural events. They are at the top of their game and we are incredibly excited to welcome them to the team this year. We hit them up with some questions to find out more about the process of madness that is modern day doof visuals.

Why do you guys do what you do?

Our passion comes from the curiosity of experimenting with immersive forms of expression that new technologies offer nowadays.

Do you have favourite genres of music to VJ too?

We have provided VJ performances across a wide spectrum of musical styles, with a primary focus on electronic genres such as psytrance, glitch-hop, techno, and drum & bass. Our strongest creative interest lies in hybrid and cross-genre fusions that blend elements of all these styles into a cohesive audiovisual language.

What kinda stuff has been in your visual folder lately and is there anything specific we look forward to seeing in the Cobb?

Lately we have been experimenting the mix between generative contents and shaders, AI, and the interaction with lasers. For the Cobb we will prepare a mix of these elements, combined with visuals inspired by the stunning landscapes of its surroundings.

How has the technology change impacted your practice since you began back in 2009?

Surely computers, softwares and projectors are more powerful, but the techniques haven't changed much. Projection mapping is a technique to immerse the audience in an illusionary experience, but we feel that the progress we saw it's more due to the creativity of the artists who are playing with it, rather than technology.

Any stand out events you've worked at you can tell us a bit about?

The festival that has let us explore and that feels like home more than any other is definitely Mo:dem. It's the one that took us through an intensely creative journey in all these years and accompanied our evolution, as well as the evolution of visuals in the scene.

First time at Twisted, what have you heard about our festival and what makes you want to join us for the New Year?

Yes, our first time. We have been watching videos of this festival for years and heard a lot from friends so we always wanted to be a part of it. We reached out to Dee and Dan and they have been kind enough to hear our ideas and our passion and give us a chance to be a part of it. It’s a dream come true!!!! Not to mention, it’s Deltaprocess’ first time in New Zealand so this is extra special. We are so grateful to be a part of this wonderful family!
