There's a Tuesday

Ōtautahi/Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa

Indie

There’s A Tuesday comprises Ōtautahi-born friends, Minnie Robberds, Nat Hutton (who are the band’s front women), drummer Gus Murray and bassist Joel Becker. They have played together for more than four years, and experienced significant success over this time. After only a few months playing and writing together as a duo, Minnie and Nat won RockQuest in 2019 during their last year at high school with songs “Pinata Head” and “Sound of the Stars”. Pinata Head was recorded at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios and was produced by Six60’s bassist Chris Mac. The debut single from There's A Tuesday went on to make number 13 in the New Zealand charts. Winning RockQuest launched the band from a duo to a four-piece, and since then, There’s A Tuesday have been warmly embraced by the New Zealand music scene for their signature lyrically compelling, indie pop sound. The band’s debut EP, “Dance With Me Before We Cry” (2020) established their place in the local music scene, despite its launch in the year of COVID-19. The EP’s tuneful narratives of the human experience received considerable attention from music enthusiasts and industry veterans alike, with both critical acclaim and chart success. In 2022 the band released and toured their sophomore project, “Boy Scout”, featuring Silver Scrolls top 5 finalist song “Girl At Night”. The EP honoured their signature sound, soothing listeners stumbling out of the lockdown years, with warm melodic solace. The band’s impressive trajectory has awarded them opening slots locally and internationally, performing for international powerhouses Conan Gray, BENEE (NZ and Australia), Spacey Jane, Julia Jacklin, The Beths, and more. There’s A Tuesday has also performed extensively on multiple festival rosters, including SXSW Sydney, Laneway (on the lineup for 2023 - cancelled by floods) Rhythm and Vines, Rhythm and Alps, Electric Avenue, Le Currents, and more. Significantly, the band has been honoured with a number of prestigious nominations and prizes from musical heavyweights such as Rolling Stone, Recorded Music New Zealand (Aotearoa Music Awards) and Australasian Performing Rights Association (Silver Scroll Awards).
