No Broadcast spawns out of Christchurch, New Zealand, influenced by its history, environment and people. They combine this with their own perspective that taps into sounds from the likes of Jakob, Mogwai, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, HDU and The Veils, to name a few. Their expansive sound is surpassed only by the loud embrace of their live experience. Since 2007, the name No Broadcast has appeared on posters, in reviews and on the NZ music scene as a band with the ability to move and charge audiences with their dynamic music. They have gigged extensively over the past decade, playing various festivals and shows locally and internationally. They’ve played alongside rockers Beast Wars; post-punk heavyweights Die! Die! Die!, Bauhaus, Skinny HOBOs, Clap Clap Riot, Mountaineater (featuring former HDU members), An Emerald City, Jakob, Dead Favours and Yawning Man. No Broadcast stems from the vision and soul of songwriter Josh Braden who has self-produced all the group’s albums to date. The band has, however, grown into a collective experience as numerous musicians have been featured on their albums and tours.
