Jungist is Hong Kong born, Eora/Sydney based DJ, producer and curator. Never bound by genre, Jungist is as versatile as they come whose sets feature everything between dubstep, drum & bass, glitch, noise, grime, techno and bass with an ever captivating, driving and evolving sense of narrative and experimentation. Jungist has impressively shared a lineup with international artists including Kode9, Giant Swan, Goldie, Calibre, Air Max 97’, Goth-Trad, RSD, Loefah, Pariah, Sicaria, Bailey Ibbs, Kilbourne, 4am Kru, DJ Plead, C. Frim, Ivy Lab, Truth, Mad Zach, Flava D, Chase & Status, DJ Marky, and Keeno and performed at Origins of Entropy Music and Arts festival and Art Valley festival in 2023 and will be performing at Dragon Dreaming Festival later this year. Jungist is co-founder of events and mix series, Decay Audio. With a finger on the pulse of the underground, Jungist has curated some of the finest lineups, disrupting the state of electronic music in Sydney, Eora. Born out of a passion and thirst for a darker sound, the Decay mix series showcases talent from around the world, offering artists a platform to experiment and break away from convention. Jungist is a mainstay of independent radio. They held a residency at FBi radio hosting ‘Variable Depth Audit’ an exploration of experimental bass music through the city’s comedown hours Sunday nights. Jungist briefly hosted Thursday Sunset during prime time 6-8PM to demonstrate her versatility. Jungist’s debut release ‘Dark Room’ featured on the Bass Water Freak Out Vol.2 compilation. The track is a lofty, head nodder with tripped out distorted breaks and haunting ambience. Jungist is set to release her debut EP on Naarm/London based label Local Knowledge mid 2023.
