Born from the Boondocks of the Bush Doof, CHUNGA was formed by J&J two homies from Motueka New Zealand who are undoubtedly by-products of the festival culture that thrives in the Cobb Valley. With dark atmospheres & psychedelic undertones, CHUNGAS sound is one beautiful cluster fuck of sonic expressions varying from glitched out wonky future beats to gritty “creature mode” dubstep mixed with aspects of melodic techno & ambient soundscape music. With many releases on Dunedin label “Norman Foreman” & a recent release on an ASHEZ e.p CHUNGA has set the tone for their sound & continues to push the underground sound throughout New Zealand & beyond.
