Party Punk, (NZ)
DARTZ is the band from Wellington, New Zealand. Formed over a box of 24 in one of Welly's coldest and most notoriously shit flats in 2019, the DARTZ boys ignited onto the capital’s music scene with single '40 Riddiford Street' and have refused to take their foot off the accelerator of their 1989 Toyota Corolla XL ever since.
The DARTZ boys are singer and frontman Danz, guitarist Crispy, bassist Clark Mathews and drummer Rollyz. With influence firmly drawn from with the boozy and anthemic Kiwi pub rock of yesteryear, as well as modern punk freneticism and a healthy interest in pinging, DARTZ have gained a reputation up and down Aotearoa for their high-energy, rark-heavy live set.
More Kiwi than hitting a vortex on a big bot of Lion Red while double parked with a can of Blue V, the DARTZ boys are guaranteed to bring the Pōneke party vibes to any gig they play. Go say hi if you see them, literally you can’t miss the fuckers they drive a bright red 1989 Corolla with flames painted on it and the personalised plate ‘DARTZ’. Sounds like the best band in Aotearoa to me.
